Man Sues Date for Cost of Movie Ticket

It was kind of a “first date from hell,” said 37-year-old Brandon Vezmar, explaining why he sued his date to recover the cost of the “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.” cinema tickets he bought for them on what turned out to be their ill-fated romantic experience earlier this month.

Vezmar claims his date started texting about 15 minutes after the movie began and “at least 10-20 times” during the next 15 minutes, leading to Vezmar asking her to stop. When his charms failed said date was told that maybe she could go outside to text. Surprisingly, this went down like a lead balloon and resulted in her leaving the cinema and Vezmar without a ride home.

The unnamed woman admitted that she had been texting, but claimed it was only 2 or 3 three times and was not really bothering anyone.

Vezmar maintains that it was a “direct violation” of theatre policy and “adversely affected” the viewing experience of himself and other patrons. In fact, he alleged in the court documents that the “defendant’s behaviour is a threat to civilized society.” The drastic step of legal action was taken after Vezmar texted his former date a few days later asking to get his money back and then, to compound matters, asking her little sister after she declined.

Rather than focus on the legal ramifications of this case I think we should focus our attention to the more pressing concern – Will Vezmar ever be able to get himself another date? Answers on a postcard folks……..
